Tried Running Qwen3 0.6B on Raspberry Pi 5!
👀 Tried running Qwen3 0.6B on Raspberry Pi 5! Fast and smooth with .gguf version!
As a little weekend experiment, I tried running Qwen3 0.6B (.gguf version) on my Raspberry Pi 5.
The result?
Surprisingly fast and smooth — I’m genuinely impressed!
Here’s the model I used 👉 https://huggingface.co/ggml-org/Qwen3-0.6B-GGUF
🚀 What I did
- Set up Qwen3 0.6B (.gguf version) on Raspberry Pi 5.
- Ran some inference tests to check speed and responsiveness.
- Tested with simple prompts to see how well it performs.
👀 Impressions
- 🟢 Thanks to the .gguf version, it ran very smoothly.
- 🟢 More than usable speed for local inference.
- 🟢 Looks very promising for local AI and edge AI scenarios.
🎯 Next steps
- Explore more ways to utilize it as a local AI.
- Try building a fully standalone AI assistant running only on Raspberry Pi!
It’s amazing to see AI running so well even on small devices like this.
I’ll keep experimenting — stay tuned for more updates! 🚀✨
